Welcome to TVET Australia
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Australia Limited is a ministerial company owned by the Commonwealth, State and Territory Ministers responsible for Training.
TVET Australia was established by the Ministerial Council for Vocational and Technical Education (MCVTE) on 18 November 2005 to provide responsive and high quality services to support the National Training System. These services include:
- A secretariat service to the National Quality Council (NQC)
- A secretariat service to the National Industry Skills Committee (NISC).
- Services to support the activities of MCVTE carried out by the NQC.
- Services to support the advisory role of the National Industry Skills Committee.
- An integrated service to enable users of the national training system to identify and acquire training materials, identify copyright requirements and enter licenses for use of that material consistent with the scope and direction of the NQC.
At the November 2006 MCVTE meeting, Ministers agreed that the role of TVET Australia would be expanded to enable it to offer registration and audit services and give:
- RTOs operating in multiple jurisdictions the option of having their registration and audit arrangements managed nationally by TVET Australia; and
- An optional arrangement for TVET to conduct additional registration and audit functions on behalf of States and Territories where they chose to delegate these functions.
Ministers further agreed that TVET Australia would assume interim responsibility for managing assessment at the “Excellence” level with the AQTF 2007. It is intended that this service will commence in January 2008.
