Welcome to TVET Australia
TVET Australia Ltd is a company owned by the members of the Ministerial Council for Vocational and Technical Education (MCVTE). The Company is governed by a Board of eight Directors comprising nominees from the Commonwealth, State and Territory Ministers. The Directors have the power to appoint up to two additional Directors with specific expertise which the Company may require.
TVET Australia’s responsibilities include the provision of secretariat support services to the following key decision making bodies of the national training system:
- the National Quality Council (NQC),
- the National Industry Skills Committee (NISC),
- the Flexible Learning Advisory Group (FLAG), and
- the National VET Equity Advisory Council (NVEAC)
TVET Australia is also responsible for providing the national training system with access to a range of catalogues listing quality teaching, learning and assessment resources, including nationally endorsed training packages. Through its TVET Product Services arm, TVET Australia also offers a centralised point of reference for Commonwealth and State-owned training resources, together with a comprehensive selection of materials from private publishers.
Finally, TVET Australia has responsibility for the National Audit and Registration Agency (NARA) which manages the audit and registration of multi-juristictional training organisations under delegation from States and Territories.
TVET Australia’s company structure provides a unique opportunity for key stakeholders within the sector to work collaboratively on areas of strategic national importance, under the oversight of the Board of Directors. The Company structure also provides for close scrutiny by, and accountability to the Company’s owners – members of the Ministerial Council for Vocational and Technical Education.
